"She was crawling already when I got here. One week, less, and the baby who was sitting up and turning over when I put her on the wagon was crawling already. Devil of a time keeping her off the stairs.
Baby's have to learn how to crawl before they can walk having the stability of parents is very important knowing they'll be there to catch them before they fall. Roll over all the motor skills they learn before they can walk even talking a little. Hand movements eye movements sometimes getting lost in strange places being around dangerous things that can harm them. Parents responsible for making there children feel safe making them feel happy and enjoy life while they are still babies. At the same time keeping the baby away from darkness. Darkness of evil sadness depression just being a happy and healthy baby.
Almost in my opinion while the baby is still a baby keeping them from going over into the dark side like there's a door nearby where a baby is crawling and its filled with fog coming out of it somehow in the baby's head they know that's where evil lurks and knowing not to go near that door. Hearing the voice of god in the baby's head telling them and guiding to just keep crawling and rolling over progressing into a toddler to finally start walking stay away from evil which of course is the devil.

Her father's daughter after all, Denver decided to do the necessary. Decided to stop relying on kindness to leave something on the stump. She would hire herself out somewhere, and although she was afraid to leave Sethe and Beloved alone all day not knowing what calamity either one of them would create, she came to realize that her presence in that house had no influence on what either woman did. She kept them alive and they ignored her.
Feeling not wanted by your own family is a cruel hurt to the heart. It's kind of like being in a room full of people talking away trying to make conversation and nobody's listening. Living in a fantasy world trying to understand if you'll get anyone to ever appreciate you as a person. Kind of like having the heart of a guardian angel guiding, leading, trusting, advising, providing knowledge, courage, proudness, dedication, hope not even a thank you. So it's time for that person to move on leave find what makes them happy. Developing tougher skin and not just letting the world walk all over you like a door mat even in families trying to stay and help for the longest time and not ever getting a thank you weather it's with parents or siblings even both.
There's really no solid answer for why people behave this way no appreciation no thank you show no gratefulness just shellfish. Maybe that's the way some people were raised to show no appreciation they live their lives seeing other people doing and think it's ok for them to do it. Taking care of someone in a caring and loving way is a lot of responsibility then finding out your presence in the home was useless seemed like nothing but a waste of that persons time.

"Here," she said, "in this here place, we flesh; flesh that weeps, laughs; flesh that dances on bare feet in grass. Love it. Love is hard. Yonder they do not love your flesh. They despite it. They don't love your eyes; they'd just as soon pick em out. No more then they love the skin on your back. Yonder they flay it. And O my people they do not love your hands. Those they only use, tie, bind, chop off and leave empty. Love your hands! Love them. Raise them up and kiss them. Touch others with them, pat them together, stroke them on your face ' cause they don't love that either.
Being true to yourself and proud of the person you are is very important loving how you look and carry yourself. Yonder to me meaning slave masters will try to tear you down in everything you do whip beat and kill for not obeying them. Wishing probably you were in a different world different planet in a world where everyone is kind, respectful, treats you like an equal not a slave. Love every bone in your body and take pride in everything you do in life. Even though you might have scars on your back that shouldn't stop people from living there lives as proud as can be even though the scars make them ashamed.
Very deep and intense know one wants to be reminded of the past if they've lived a dangerous and brutal one it's like driving on a rough road for a long period of time not knowing when it's going to become smooth again, or walking on hard rocks or broken sharp glass to painful to even speak. To be put in an in closed space by yourself no one to talk to feeling the space get smaller finding it hard to breath and began to suffocate. The only thing that can be on a persons mind is trying to figure out a way to get out without dying and losing grip on reality. Always remembering there hands they still have is the main key to help them.

For days she slept, waking and sitting up only for water. Denver tended her watched her sound sleep, listened to her labored breathing and, out of love and a breakneck possessiveness that charged her, hid like a personal blemish Beloved's incontinence.
Like a baby sleeping not wanting to eat just being thirsty for fluids. A mother watching her child happy to be a mother but wondering what's the problem with her eating habits. The overwhelming of sitting being overprotective of a child perhaps being in a dark room just starring at the baby wondering what's going on inside their head. Dreaming of what life would be like for the child as they got older the good times the bad times the happy times the sad times. all of this while still watching the child sleep. Listening to the child's heartbeat wondering what a baby might be thinking themselves even though there so young.
Barricading in the room maybe wanting to know all the baby's secrets and fears if any wishing maybe that the child could speak letting the mom know what there thinking how they feel about there family what they would like to accomplish in life the careers they want to have it's almost like an addiction the mother can't stay away from her child to attached to think about anything else or do anything else. In a quiet room just mom and child sharing a bond together as if no one else matters but them the world is in both of their hands.

Analysis For Beloved
My interpretation of the last two pages of the book Beloved is how Beloved repeats herself by saying
This is not a story to pass on". The saying "It is not a story to pass on". While reading the book and it being so intense and complicated to understand she recommends no one else reads it because it's so brutal even with the other quote meaning the same thing. Sixty million and more refers to slavery back in 1873 Sethe the mother didn't want her child to be sold as slaves so she kills them. Sethe felt like she was doing the right thing when she killed her children to protect them.
Other issues for slavery included another quote from the book "Inevitably these thoughts led me to the different history of black women in this country-a history in which marriage was discouraged, impossible, or illegal; in which birthing children was required, but "having" them, being responsible for them being in other words, their parent was as out of the question as freedom".(Foreword) Having to protect Sethe refuse to take care of her children but not in a bad way just to keep them from being sold. To some people this quote might sound like the parent doesn't want to be bothered with the child they birthed because the love is not there but in reality back in the 16th century I feel like there doing the right thing.
In the 16th century when slavery still existed there were other mothers that tried to kill their children one mother escaped slavery but later was arrested for killing one of her children and trying to kill the rest. There's something else in the book called the terrain slavery a tract of land especially as considered with reference to its natural features military advantages. Not quite sure what that all means.
Beloved doesn't like being alone the thought of it makes her sick rocking back and forth with her hands folded on the ground feeling neglected and unwanted there's a quote from the book "counting on the stillness of her soul, she had forgotten the other one: the soul of her baby girl. Who would have thought that a little old baby could harbor so much rage?'(pg.5) To me the rage from baby suggs is since her spirit came back it's build with anger and frustration of being killed by her mother Sethe no one would know her name or remember who she was.
Beloved has such a hard time because she feels like Denver the other daughter gets more attention then she does it's kind of like a bad dream to her only the dream is real. The distant is a problem for Beloved eventually it's like Beloved never existed even down stream of I24 where Denver goes all the time. I think Beloveds family in the end decided not to remember her or her spirit because there was alot of drama that went on in that house the killing of Beloved by her mother for not wanting her to be sold the brutal deaths on the way they were killed.

As I keep reading and reading I'm still not quite understanding everything that's happening. I try and imagine myself back in the 1800's and what it would be like for me if I went through something so dramatic then having one of my children's sprit come back. It would all be a blur for me trying to rebuild my life moving on and then just like that have my whole world turned upside down. I'm still not done reading going along piece by piece gives me a little bit more understanding but not alot yet. I picture myself being in Denver's place knowing what I want being independent wanting to feel wanted but sometimes I feel like I'm just the opposite however I do know what I want in life helping others has always been important to me. This maybe a bad thing to say or maybe not but if I were in Sethe shoes I would be dazed and confused abot why the spirit of my daughter beloved came back and be horrified and tell my husband and daughter Denver not to get to comfortable around her not knowing what should could be capable of. I have to remember that Beloved is still a child and doesn't know alot even though she came back in adult form being in a situation like that me personally felt like if it was me in that situation I would have came back as an adult knowing more about the world who my parents were my sister my two bothers understanding what was going on around me anything that happened to me. Beloved came back as this beautiful young lady with good skin and a beautiful face just like I pictured in my dream. I pictured myself in Sethe's place again the mother who's always had a problem with her bladder since she was a little girl if that was me I would be able to control it maybe Sethe has a bladder infection I thought to myself. Maybe the older she gets it's gotten worse.

As I've been reading through this book in my opinion it's alot to take in and grasp. Sethe the mother had four chidren Denver, baby Suggs, Howard, and Buglar. Baby Suggs was killed by her mother because she didn't want her to be sold and become a slave eventually baby Suggs came back from the dead in adult form and began to haunt her family the youngest daughter Denver took a liking to her and helped her how to walk feed her bathe her and looked after her. This is the kind of book that you have to keep reading more than once to really understand it. They all lived in a gray and white house in Cincinnati in the 1800's I felt like Sethe the mother did what she had to do in order to keep her baby from being sold but, I also ask myself was that really showing protection from a mother towards her daughter? In a way back then that was the way I think former slaves did things to keep their children from becoming slaves themselves. Sethe's husband paul D. also experienced the sprit of baby Suggs it was almost like baby Suggs wanted to let her family know that she wasn't ready to go yet that her sprit would always be alive no matter what. Denver was mad at first for baby Suggs dying she bacame depressed and lonely until she found out her spirit had came back if I was in that situation I would be scared to death and not know what to do but stay away from my family. Sethe's two boys Howard and Buglar had run away from home they couldn't stand the fact that baby Suggs was dead and they couldn't stand living in the little house. As I keep reading this book it gets more and more intense and powerful making it intriging for me to have more to talk about.

Mortgages
For the topic of mortgages I was paired up in a group with Analycia, Leo, Kaylen, and myself we all had our own areas of research . What is a mortgage? How do mortgages work? What's the difference between a fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgage? How much would you pay for a mortgage? We each wrote down the answer to the questions that we chose to talk about. Everyone did their part we researched online to find the information we needed printed it out and brought it to class to share with each other. Everyone read their information to each other so we could all get a good understanding on mortgages then we discuss how we would go around to our different classmates and explain to them about what our topic was and tell them about the areas that we researched. I have more knowledge about what I have learned mortgages are all about percentages the interest on nearly all mortgages is computed monthly, divide the annual rate by 12 to get the monthly rate. Monthly mortgage payments depend on how much a person gets approve for a home loan. Fixed rate mortgages have interest levels that never change for the whole lifetime of the home loan. Home loan borrowers know exactly how much they will pay each month for the entire duration of the agreement. Adjustable rate mortgages have an interest level that changes or "adjusts", periodically lenders change lower initial interest rates for ARMs than FRMs, knowing that ARMs can have their rates increase after a short fixed-rate introductory period. Maybe one day if I decide to buy a house I'll know what to expect when it comes to the mortgage, interest rate, payments, and the different kinds. Mortgages are very important to know about and understand because sometimes things can go wrong with the bank the homeowners got the loan from or job related issues and it could cause the homeowners home to go into foreclosure or filing for bankruptcy.
The process and collaboration my group and I went through to complete this midterm was we exchanged phone numbers and emails everyone wrote a response to there area on mortgages and then we emailed it to one another so they could read it and gets some feedback. Our group wanted this to be a really good solid midterm that's why we chose to work in a group so it would be easier. We met up on Wednesday the 23rd of October to put all of our information into one great midterm that included each area that Leo, Kaylen, Analycia, and myself did. Also included the work cited page from where we got our information and discussed the other topics that the other groups had done in our class. Everyone did there part by making suggestions on how to have this midterm come together reading every one's information making sure it made sense proper grammar good thesis statement introduction body paragraphs in detail and conclusion. The meeting that was on Wednesday if anyone had any questions about anything they would always ask if they weren't sure proofreading the entire midterm. Also if anyone in the group wanted to change some information on doing there part on mortgages they could just go back to google doc and do it and still share it with the rest of the group. In all this turned out to be a great outcome for the preparation of the midterm getting together to organized it having a wonderful group to work with and the actual midterm itself being written and finished.

The difference between fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgages.
There are a number of differences between fixed-and adjustable-rate home loans. Understanding these differences can help prospective borrowers navigate home loan financing so they can borrow the right type of loan suits them. Let's define these two terms before diving into differences.
Fixed-rate Mortgages(FRMs) have interest levels that never change for the whole lifetime of the home loan. FRM's are attractive since home loan borrowers know exactly how much they will pay each month for the entire duration of the agreement, which makes budgeting easy. While it seems quite obvious why borrowers would opt for the comfortable predictability of FRM's, when interest rates are high it may be difficult to qualify for an FRM since payments become less affordable.
Adjustable-rate Mortgages (ARMs) as their name implies, ARMs have an interest level that changes, or "adjusts", periodically. Because of this, lenders typically change lower initial interest rates for ARMs than FRMs, knowing that ARMs can have their rates increase after a short fixed-rate introductory period. This period makes an ARM easier to afford initially, even when compared to a fixed-rate home loan for the same amount of money.
Decisions, Decisions
Borrowers should ask themselves whether they want the potential short-term and tentative benefits of ARMs or the long term predictability of FRMs. An individual's appetite and tolerance for high risk can be the strongest determining factor when selecting between two types of loans. Borrowers need to balance their personal finances with the economic reality of the fluctuating mortgage market. In fact, borrowers might find ARMs more advantageous if a borrower can save money during the short low-interest introductory period.
It's vitally important for borrowers to understand how large of a mortgage payment they can afford as well as whether they can afford an ARM if rates rise. Borrowers that will live on a property for a short period of time might benefit from ARM over an FRM; especially if interest levels are in decline. Of course if rates are rising, then locking in a steady rate with an FRM could be prudent.

Bill O'reily Gets Owned By Cornell West And Tavis Smiley

In my analysis I'm going to talk about the economy debate between O'reilly, and Tavis Smiley and professor Cornell West. 46 million Americans live below the poverty line. That's 15% of the population in 2010 $560 billion, 16% of the entire federal budget was spent on the poor. That's up 5,400% since 1970.
In Bill O'Reily's talk about poverty he feels that everyone gets treated the same when it comes to finding jobs while Tavis Smiley and Cornel West don't agree. I feel that Bill O'reily is wrong he's very arrogant, and ignorant everyone doesn't get treated the same when it comes to finding jobs some have to work harder than others to get to where they want to be a lot of people go through hardships for not getting the job they want, trying to work your way up to the top by taking jobs you don't necessarily want but, you know you have to do them. Minimum wage jobs having to sacrifice for what you want for the things that's more important. Not everyone can be rich.
"Then, reality hits; you can't find a job in this Recession Economy or the one you secured has been snatched away... Your life is consumed with massive debt, color-coded bills, and constant calls from malicious debt collectors".(pg.33) A person can become homeless at anytime; because the economy can go down at anytime you can't pay your bills, your rent, can't buy food.
However up until the late 1940's the economy began to change but it seemed like it was more for white families they were able to afford cars, houses, and TVs and only one person had to work in the family. By the 1950's African Americans were able to get steady jobs the American dream was in full effect which was what Martin Luther King Jr. believed in. Now that we're in the 21st century I believe that all African Americans can get any jobs they set their minds to. The ones that really want careers that's what Tavis Smiley and Cornel West believed in.

In Bill O'Reily's talk about poverty he feels that everyone gets treated the same when it comes to finding jobs while Tavis Smiley and Cornel West don't agree. I feel that Bill O'reily is wrong he's very arrogant, and ignorant everyone doesn't get treated the same when it comes to finding jobs some have to work harder than others to get to where they want to be a lot of people go through hardships for not getting the job they want, trying to work your way up to the top by taking jobs you don't necessarily want but, you know you have to do them. Minimum wage jobs having to sacrifice for what you want for the things that's more important. Not everyone can be rich.
"Then, reality hits; you can't find a job in this Recession Economy or the one you secured has been snatched away... Your life is consumed with massive debt, color-coded bills, and constant calls from malicious debt collectors".(pg.33) A person can become homeless at anytime; because the economy can go down at anytime you can't pay your bills, your rent, can't buy food.
However up until the late 1940's the economy began to change but it seemed like it was more for white families they were able to afford cars, houses, and TVs and only one person had to work in the family. By the 1950's African Americans were able to get steady jobs the American dream was in full effect which was what Martin Luther King Jr. believed in. Now that we're in the 21st century I believe that all African Americans can get any jobs they set their minds to. The ones that really want careers that's what Tavis Smiley and Cornel West believed in.

Constructive Response
There has been alot of homicides in Oakland over the past 10 years especially involving
black males and the oakland public school system. There needs to be a way where black
males can go to school without getting involved in gangs, fights, being suspended from
school and even being shot and killed by other gang members. Some of the boys in the
article were able to graduate on time because they stayed out of trouble, concentrated on
there work focused on getting into a university or college but, the heartache was they saw
there friends get killed right in front of their eyes. That made it sad for them at the
graduation.
I feel like teaches make a big difference in there students lives and education just like in part
two of this article Oakland Classes Offer Black Males Hope. Tiago Robinson was a teacher
at Oakland high school all the students were black and male. He wanted to teach his
students about becoming strong black men like he had become. It seems like black males
have harder times in school then black females a lot of the males at Oakland high had
fathers that were incarcerated and some of the students were starting to follow in their
footsteps.
A seperate but equal school for black boys in Oakland black males post lower scores than
english learners they don't do well on test beacuse they don't study or have tutors. They miss
miss school don't do homework and just like to fight at school with other students because
of threats. I wish there could come a time when all black males would take there education
seriously without any violence but will that ever happen?

Black males react different knowing they have a black teacher. Too many black males see violence when they're young and up getting involved in gangs.
